After throwing on the wheel and getting trimmed, Jiaqi’s works are hand carved to become lightweight, textured and covered with intricate patterns. Jiaqi Lin mixes her own glaze and fires her works in her home studio, in Grand Rapids. She primarily works with cone6 porcelain and speckled clay. She aims to achieve a balance between good design and leaving room for self-expression.
