Artist of the Month: Dick Lehman

Dick Lehman is a nationally recognized studio potter based in Goshen, Indiana, whose work has been celebrated for decades for its distinctive use of saggar firing, “Oni Glazing” and wood firing techniques. Lehman has been a significant figure in the American studio pottery movement, exhibiting widely across the country and internationally, and his work is held in numerous private and public collections. He has been a longtime contributor to the ceramics community through teaching, writing and demonstration, and has shared his technical knowledge generously through workshops and publications over the years. His presence in Goshen has made him an important anchor for the regional ceramics community and his influence on potters in the Michiana area specifically has been considerable.
